Under The Crescent Moon

On the anniversary of our thirty-third year and eleventh month, we strolled hand in hand under the crescent moon, discovering treasures within us and about us. I will always remember and forever be grateful to share this journey... in this place, with you.

My New England

I dream of living somewhere with warm weather all year round. My bones are aching with the thought of another bitter winter. But this..... Could I ever leave this?  Crumbling stone walls, long lived trees, abandoned farmland growing wild flowers.... Be still my heart, I love it here. And, of course, there is a cemetery beyond that wall. ;)

The Benediction

"The Benediction"
This image was painted by my husband's great aunt, Yvette (Guerard) Leveillee. Our family is so blessed to still have this in our home. It so perfectly captures the simple life of a French Canadian family at about the same time period Yvette and her family immigrated to the Woonsocket area during the industrial revolution. We are so grateful for the strong faith and family bond our relatives not only brought with them, but also instilled in their own children.  My husband, Michael, still bestows a special blessing upon  our family each New Year's Day.

Decaying Beauty

"Decaying Beauty"

These old homes thrill me and break my heart at the same time. From an artistic point of view, I love every tattered, worn, and weathered touch.  The sometimes creepy accessories and landscape make it a fun experience every time. But the reality of these old gems rotting away is also a harsh reminder that, like the memories they hold, are fading away. If only a growing family could have taken it over and maintained its charm while it still had a chance.  Nature is reclaiming this beauty one season, one rainstorm at a time.  But I love it still...

"Sisters Forever"

My 17 year old, Hannah,  is quite the hair and makeup artist. Her favorite model is her sister, Rebekah. They never cease to amaze me. And I cannot wait to see what their future holds. I'm sure it will be fun and creative.  I thought this ensemble had a "haunted New England" feel to it!
